Roberto Parisella is a cryptographer specialized in zero-knowledge proofs, with a particular focus on zk-SNARKs and privacy-preserving protocol design. His research centers on the theoretical foundations of succinct proof systems for secure and scalable blockchain applications. He works on improving efficiency, soundness, and real-world deployability of zero-knowledge constructions, bridging rigorous cryptographic research with production-ready systems. Through his work, Roberto contributes to advancing trust-minimized technologies that enable verifiable computation without revealing sensitive information.
Roberto Parisella obtained his PhD from the University of Bergen in 2023 under the supervision of Helger Lipmaa. Following his doctoral studies, he was a postdoctoral researcher at Simula UiB, where he worked until 2025. In 2025, he joined the University of Tartu as a researcher, a position he currently holds.
